I'll be honest, when I first listened to this album I was very unsure about it. Before I discovered this album, I had been listening to Tyler's previous album, Wolf, for quite some time. When I first listened to Cherry Bomb, I was quite surprised. It was different, and for awhile I didn't really care for it. However, after a while the album grew on me. The songs may have been different, but they were different in a good way. I liked how eerie and dreamy some of the songs were, particularly FUCKING YOUNG/PERFECT and DEATHCAMP. The lyrics were catchy, and the sound of the songs danced around my head.
BUY OR NO BUY?
Considering I'm not a huge fan of rap really says something about this album. Tyler the Creator is the only rapper I find worthwhile. I fell in love with his words, and his "I don't give a fuck" attitude. Do I recommend this album? Absolutely.
